I have embarked on a new project with Dorothy, my wife and sometime co-writer, plus several others. We are creating an indie publishing house for books and other publications dedicated to arts and health. Our intent is for this to attract a primarily “lay” rather than “academic” readership. The general structure of most of these books will be words and pictures, and we hope we will receive book proposals from  far and wide.

Dorothy is the taking the lead on a book provisionally called “Beauty will Save the World: Art, Health Equity, and the Antigonish Movement,” while I am well along with a book we’re titling  “Women Artists, Teachers, Caregivers, Activists: A Trans-Canada Whistlestop.” It describes a month long journey we made, almost entirely by train, across the breadth of Canada to meet with women fitting the title’s description, together with our reflections on what we learned. Lots of pictures from all across the country of art and artists at work on creating a better world.
